Planning for the future can be daunting – and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Lloyds will writing and power of attorney services in England and Wales are provided by Hugh James solicitors.
Why choose us?
Planning for the future doesn’t have to be overwhelming. We know your time is valuable, and thinking about wills or power of attorney might seem like a task for another day. But choosing the right people to guide you and having confidence in their advice is crucial.
Our range of services lets you pick the best option for you, allowing you to provide your instructions at your own pace.
Create your own will with our easy-to-use will writing software.
From £84.00
Our ‘Do It Yourself’ option guides you through the process without needing assistance from our legal team, making it perfect for straightforward wills.
Once you’ve submitted your instructions, you’ll receive a final downloadable version along with clear instructions on how to print, assemble, and make it legally binding. For a small fee, you can also choose to have your will professionally printed and posted to you.
Who is this for?
Suitable for simple wills, for those without second marriages or children from previous relationships. Ideal for those appointing a guardian for children.
Legal review
Have your will expertly drafted and reviewed by our legal team.
From £180.00
Our review service will highlight any issues that need your attention and help you determine the best way to fulfil your wishes.
The instructions you submit online will be carefully reviewed by one of our specialist will writing lawyers, who will then draft your will according to your specifications. Once you review and approve the draft, we’ll send you a final copy with clear instructions on how to make it legally binding.
This option allows you to include more specialised provisions in your will than the ‘Do It Yourself’ option.
Who is this for?
Suitable for those who would like our legal team to write their will, and/or wish to include more specialised provisions.
Legal consultation
Enjoy the reassurance and support of a video or phone consultation appointment.
From £288.00
Our consultation service lets you discuss your instructions and explore options for your will with an experienced will writing lawyer.
You can fill out our online instruction form as much as you like, with no obligation, as your instructions will be discussed later. Then, book an appointment at a time that suits you best.
After your appointment, our specialist will writing lawyers will draft your will for your review and approval. Once you’re happy with it, we’ll send you a final copy with clear instructions on how to make it legally binding.
Who is this for?
Suitable for anyone looking to discuss their will and wishes with a will writing expert, and for those with more complex family, business, or personal affairs.
For bespoke tax mitigation and comprehensive lifetime planning, we recommend bespoke service.
All fees quoted are inclusive of 20% VAT unless otherwise stated.
Bespoke service
This service is perfect for those needing in-depth and bespoke tax and estate planning advice before finalising their wills.
It includes all components of our legal consultation service, with the option of a full written tax report tailored to your circumstances, providing comprehensive advice on your personal tax position and bespoke planning.
Additionally, this service may include drafting further documents, such as trust deeds or letters of wishes.
Since everyone’s needs are unique, we quote prices on a case-by-case basis but always strive to agree on a fixed fee before any work begins. Contact us on 0345 223 3034 or [email protected] to get started.
Our power of attorney services
Health and Care Decisions Lasting Power of Attorney
A Health and Care Decisions LPA lets you choose someone you trust to make decisions about your health and personal welfare, like your living arrangements or medical treatment, if you become mentally incapable. It also allows your attorneys to give or refuse life-sustaining treatment on your behalf.
This LPA can only be used once it’s registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and you are no longer able to make your own decisions. We register your documents for you as part of our service, however the OPG registration fee isn’t included in our pricing
Financial Decisions Lasting Power of Attorney
A Financial Decisions LPA allows you to appoint someone to manage your property and financial affairs if you become physically unable or lack the mental capacity to do so. Like the Health and Care Decisions LPA, this LPA can only be used once it’s registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). However, it can be used even if you still have mental capacity. We register your documents for you as part of our service, however the OPG registration fee isn’t included in our pricing.
Ready to write your lasting power of attorney?
Important to know before you begin:
To register LPAs, completed registration forms must be sent to the OPG along with the required court fee, which is currently £82 per document. Some people may qualify for an exemption.
Our service includes registering the documents on your behalf, and the OPG fee will be collected at the payment stage to be passed on during the registration process. In our experience, the registration process with the OPG can take 10-12 weeks.
Prefer to write your will or power of attorney offline?
